Dreams
I pulled the huge bin out from storage and began going through my journals, dating back to 1986.
I have been working on my second book and re-visited the history of elementary days in the lives of my four 5 year olds.
Interestingly enough, I opened to a page dated 3-4-01. The title of my entry was a list of my dreams:
Doing mission trip as a family
Write a book
Have a mom’s group
Speak and travel
I wrote how I was thankful to have the ability to dream. I released these dreams to God and prayed they would come to pass and I would be enabled to walk out the necessary steps in the proper timing.
Here I am, 18 years later with all those dreams fulfilled! I had completely forgotten I had written them down.
In 2011 the kids and I traveled to Kenya, Africa and worked in an orphanage of 104 children under the age of six. It was one of the most fulfilling times in my life.
I published Savor the Dayin 2016. It is an inspirational journal to inspire the practice of gratitude and savoring in daily life.
I have lead numerous groups of women and now designed TRIBE, a group for moms of children with rare and undiagnosed conditions.
I felt humbled by the fact I had forgotten my prayer and didn’t realize the power of dreams.
Dreams at any age. Dreams for anything. Dreams for me and dreams for my loved ones. I will write them down, revisit them and date the fulfillment of them, even if it is 18 years from now!
Dreams are a part of my legacy and sharing them can be an encouragement to those who have forgotten HOW to dream.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
