You Matter
My mission statement as a life coach has been grounded with the phrase:
Other People Matter.
This is a very clear way to describe the foundation of Positive Psychology.
There are times when I have a very full plate and the stress seeps into my mind and body.
I have learned to pause, return to my mission and ask myself, “Why am I doing this?” My answer,
“Other People Matter.”
During my training as a Self-Compassion teacher, one of our exercises addressed the question, "What do I need to hear?”
My answer at that time was, “I need to know I matter.”
It was an internal voice speaking as a best friend would say to me.
As I wrote this answer down and repeated it to myself, I experienced a deep sense of wholeness as the phrase touched my soul with security and love.
I decided to expand my mission statement, frame it and set it on my desk.
Other People Matter. I matter.
Last weekend, my loved one looked at me as randomly said:
“You matter!”
I was immediately reminded of my mission and realized how powerful those words are.
In that moment, I needed to be reminded of the truth.
My next step is to be aware of people who may need to hear the spoken words of,
“You Matter!”
Two powerful words with great impact.

What about the seemingly minor issues of your life? Do they matter to God? Of course they do!
So you never need to worry, for you are more valuable to God than anything else in this world.
